ABSTRACT
How many biochemical pathways triggering cell death forms are available to
normal, preneoplastic, and neoplastic cells? What morphological and biochem-
ical alterations result from each of these pathways? Which ones predominate in
each type of neoplasm? Which may be triggered therapeutically, and what is the
best approach to triggering these cell death pathways? What are the inhibitors
and activators of each of these pathways?
