Remotely sensed data can be used for a great variety of practical applications, all of which relate, in general, to Earth resources. For convenience, and because the innumerable applications are so varied and far reaching, in this chapter these applications are classed into major categories, each coming under the purview of some recognized professional discipline or specialty.
