VI. CONCLUSION Muscarinic receptor subtypes, when defined pharmacologically, correspond with those identified on the basis of sequence. Several antagonists (atropine, pirenzepine, methoctramine,p-F-HHSiD, himbacine, and tripitramine) are available that, when used in concert, allow good operational definition of a muscarinic receptor subtype.
