ABSTRACT

In general, RFID is a means of automatically capturing data from objects. ªe technology is relatively old, with its Ÿrst uses in military applications in the 1940s. A massive growth in the industry started in the late 1990s with the possibility of fabricating low-cost RFID tags in high volume. NFC allows access to those tags not only from dedicated reader devices, but from devices we carry with us every day (e.g., a mobile phone or camera). It will represent, therefore, the major interface between our daily life and tagged objects.
