Driving a car involves several parallel or time-shared tasks: stabilization, maneuvering, and route following. Stabilization is the basic task of controlling a vehicle, accelerating, decelerating, and so on, to make it run smoothly. Maneuvering involves keeping the vehicle in the road zone and avoiding collisions with other traffi c. While operating a vehicle, drivers also perform a route-following task to get to their destination. This strategic task involves identifying intersections and selecting the appropriate branch for reaching the destination.
