The Geologic Environment The geologic environment interfacing with human activities includes not only the basic components of soil, rock, and water, but also the associated phenomena referred to as geologic hazards, i.e., flooding, erosion, landslides and other slope failures, ground subsidence and collapse, ground heave, and earthquakes.
