ABSTRACT
This chapter greatly extends the domain of physical and engineering systems amenable to modeling and analysis by the unified methods presented in this book. It does so without applying analytical methods beyond the reach of undergraduate engineering programs. Certain more sophisticated topics in modeling are deferred to later chapters.
