ABSTRACT

Digoxin is most often implicated. Rarely implicated cardiac glycosides: Digitoxin, ouabain, lanatoside C (now used infrequently). Plant glycoside ingestions: Foxglove, oleander, lily-of-the-valley, red squill. Toad skin venom: Presumed aphrodisiacs secreted by Bufo toads (Family Bufonidae) that contain bufotoxins, especially from the bufadienolide class. Common U.S. species include Colorado River toad (Bufo Alvariusi), cane toad (Bufo marinus), and the American toad.
