ABSTRACT
There are many issues and challenges involved in designing accessible medical devices. This chapter introduces the problem and provides a framework for addressing issues that include carefully defining intended users, developing accessible design strategies, and evaluating safety and risks in device use. It also provides some specific considerations for accessible device designs and the role of medical device use environments.
