ABSTRACT

The role of human resources (HR) in industrial environments is to bring different people and

functions together to achieve common business goals. HR provides the glue that holds various

business functions together to make the company work smoothly and translate the business vision

into action. The goal of HR is to hire and retain the right people, create business systems that

support and motivate them, and help align departmental objectives with overall business objectives.

An effective HR function uses ergonomics tools to accomplish all of these goals. In addition, HR

must ensure compliance with several employment laws and ergonomics can be a key element in a

compliance strategy.
