ABSTRACT

This chapter will focus on catalyst preparation methods used in high-throughput screening of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions in gas as well as multiphase. The chapter is divided into preparation methods: (i) for the discovery stage, where surface science techniques e.g., chemical vapor deposition or physical vapor deposition are predominant, but more and more solution-based methods come to the fore, (ii) for wall-coated reactors, monolith on the one hand, which are used as multichannel reactors and coated microstructured reactors on the other hand and (iii) for the optimization stage. Here mostly conventionally prepared catalysts are used, often by using automated preparation techniques, e.g., pipette robots for incipient wetness deposition.
