The previous chapter described program elements. This chapter focuses on process, that is, the stream of actions that bring about a result. * . We will first review the process of solving problems, which is the ultimate goal of the ergonomics effort. There are many ways of characterizing this process, several of which are outlined below to help you, depending upon your own style and organizational culture, or simply to present ideas in different ways. Then, the topic changes to the process of introducing ergonomics to your organization and the process of running the program.
