Genetics is a differential approach of the intra-specific variation, either normal or pathologic, based on several types of experimental methods. Most of the behavioral and neural phenotypes are complex traits that require the development of specific tools. Several animal species are currently used in the field of behavioral neurogenetics, from humans to rotifers, through dogs, rodents, birds, fishes and flies.
