Hence, this review is intended to supplement the radioactive
in situ
hybridization methods of these investigators
and to provide alternatives. The scope is limited to the use of radiolabeled cRNA to localize transcripts in paraffin-embedded tissue sections, although much of the discussion is applicable to frozen tissue sections.
