ABSTRACT
A communication channel defined over transmission media or links carries the data signal (analog or digital). The communication channel is a very important component within a communication system, as it defines a path over a communication link or a combination of links for carrying the information from one node to another. In the previous chapters, we briefly characterized a channel by a number of parameters such as different forms of representing various signals, modes of operations of a channel, channel capacity, speed of transmission, different types of transmission, etc.
