ABSTRACT
The presentation layer offers an appropriate format to the data it receives from the application layer. The data from the application layer is end user application service and must be expressed in the same format as that of the receiving site. In addition to format, the presentation layer of both the sending and receiving sites should provide the same coding scheme, syntax, and semantics so that the encoded data can be transmitted to the peer application layer entity of the receiving site.
