ABSTRACT

Summary

This chapter presents the development of a bond-graph-based evolutionary system tool to model and identify mechatronic systems in a rather optimal manner. The integration of bond graphs and block diagrams in modeling provides a domain-independent simulation environment suitable for multidomain mechatronic systems. Genetic programming is linked to this environment to create a multipurpose evolutionary tool. This tool can be used for model identification in a variety of problems, provided that a suitable evaluation scheme can be established for that problem.
