The maintenance of DNA integrity is essential for cellular life. Consequently, different approaches are used to check it.
Recent developments are based on separation techniques coupled with very sensitive detection systems (high-performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, electrochemistry). They allow the detection and quantification of different DNA lesions.
