ABSTRACT

Temperature has a universal effect on life. All life processes depend on chemical reactions that, in turn, are dependent on temperature as based on the principles of the Arrhenius equation (Burton and Edholm, 1955). Toxicology is defined as the study of the adverse effects of chemicals on living organisms (Klaasen and Eaton, 1991). The interplay between temperature and the physiological response to toxic chemicals is the subject of this book.
