Cardiac MRI is evolving as a powerful diagnostic tool in humans (see Chapter 17). It has the highest
accuracy in measuring cardiac function, e.g., ejection fraction and myocardial mass [1], and it bears
the potential to combine several modalities in one session, e.g., determination of myocardial
viability, mechanical function, and perfusion status.
