ABSTRACT

The different variants of staffing are closely related to scheduling and resource allocation problems. Different search-based techniques were used for planning resource allocation in large massive maintenance projects. The discipline of project management is concerned with planning, organizing, leading, staffing and controlling of projects. In the context of a specific organization or a specific project, there is a set of competencies that have been observed to be relevant for performing the tasks. The problem formulation and the proposed solution method are illustrated by an example with 10 tasks. Another important instance of the general staffing problem formulation relates to finding good plans under the premise that all features need to be processed. In correspondence to the higher level of detail in data and planning, the time horizon for staffing is shorter than for the case of strategic planning.
