ABSTRACT
In terms of computer monitors, the benefits of flat screen technology are they require less desk space, which has slowed down the demand for larger desks from suppliers, they consume about one-third of the power used by standard cathode ray tubes, and they have lower emission values. The design, development and introduction of laptop computers started a major change in the way people performed screen-based work. They offered freedom over where and when an individual could work. This change has speeded up with the advent of wireless technology. A wireless personal area network employs a system that transmits data through short-range radio waves and has a range of about 50 m. It permits a user to transmit data between devices such as a mobile phone and a personal digital assistants, desktop or laptop. Working from home has to be carefully controlled and the same guiding principles that would be applied to a conventional office apply to the home office environment.
