ABSTRACT

Universal and accessible design strategies derive from a simple fundamental premise: design entities to work with, support, and enhance human functioning. Design to human strengths and not human weaknesses. Create products and processes wherein people are allowed to do what they do best, and where the products and processes are required to do what they do best. It is from this perspective that universal design is defined as the design of entities that can be used and experienced by people of all abilities, to the greatest extent possible, without adaptations.
