ABSTRACT

Our book is finished, and it is a pity, as we have been able to show you only as much as a little mouse from the “Great Kingdom of Machinery.” We sought to tell you some basic facts about typical machine elements: their life, design considerations, and fundamentals of calculations. Evidently, we were unable to do more (in the context of the declared subject matter) because our time resources, knowledge, and experience are limited. But, the abilities and experience of the fellowship of mechanical engineers are immensely greater, and each of us has had the happy chance of putting a brick in the Great Chinese Wall of collective knowledge.
