ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 describes Web databases and XML whereas Chapter 4 describes information retrieval and XML. This chapter focuses on information management technologies such as collaboration, knowledge management, and multimedia systems and agents; and then on the relationship to XML. (XML applications in information management will be elaborated on further in Part III).
