ABSTRACT
The picture that emerged from the description of the galaxy distribution in Chapter 1 is one of a network of galaxies concentrated in clusters, filaments, and walls surrounding large empty voids. While the statistical measures described in Chapters 3 and 8 do provide a wealth of information about the scale, amplitude, and even the nature of the deviations from a uniform distribution, they at best offer only suggestive statistical measures for these structural patterns.
