ABSTRACT
In this chapter we show how some of the models and techniques presented in the previous chapters can be extended to multi-facility queueing systems: in particular, systems consisting of parallel service facilities fed by one or more arrival processes. Such systems are the simplest examples of networks of queues, which will also be the subject of the next two chapters.
