ABSTRACT
Once a model has been fitted to the observed values of a binary or binomial response variable, it is essential to check that the fitted model is actually valid. Indeed, a thorough examination of the extent to which the fitted model provides an appropriate description of the observed data is a vital aspect of the modelling process.
