ABSTRACT
Chemical engineers working in the area of transport phenomena must frequently
solve problems that involve linear second-order differential equations. These
may occur as boundary value problems in diffusional systems or initial value
problems in process control or reacting systems, but most frequently, they are the
result of reduction of partial differential equations.
