ABSTRACT

The generating mechanism of any hydrologic event is a harmonious set of relationships between the input and output variables, which can be represented by different methodologies such as mathematics, probability, statistics, and stochastic processes, all of which have rational and logical foundations. It is necessary to have mathematical formulations for such methodologies and they are all based on CL as dependent or independent variables. If dependent, then again a CL relationship in the form of direct or indirect proportionality statements takes place in the construction of a suitable model. In the CL model, a set of assumptions, simplication statements, and parameters are necessary.
