Types of Audits In the first chapter, we saw that GMP audits are categorized into the following:

• Internal —first party

• External —second party —third party

The category of audit depends on the relationship be­ tween the auditor and the auditee. These term s are use­ ful in discussing organizational aspects of the audit.
