ABSTRACT
The Quality System Regulation requires, in 820.70(i), that software programs be validated for their in tended use according to an established protocol when computers are used as part o f an automated production or a part o f the quality system. Software used in automated production and quality systems consists of programs or codes that cause computer ized equipment to perform desired tasks, plus opera tor manuals and instructions (FDA 1997).
