This chapter will address the relationship between nutrition and nonalcoholic liver diseases. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), chronic hepatitis B and C, hemochromatosis, and cholestatic liver diseases will be discussed. The effects on the liver of commonly consumed food items, such as coffee, tea, fruit, and gluten in addition to the consequences of alcohol consumption on the progression and prognosis of nonalcohol induced liver diseases are covered.
