The Corporate Paradox Does this sound familiar? is is not an unusual tactic. When times are tough, many organizations retreat and decide to cut costs. Read the paper any given day and you will see that organizations are laying off employees to reduce costs to return to profitability or just to survive. As we write this book, U.S. automakers are laying off workers because they did not foresee the shift in the auto market or increases in gas prices.
