ABSTRACT
The subcutaneous fat spreads all over the cheek area and the neck resulting in a homogeneous thick sheath, except in the malar area where the fat gains further volume forming the so-called ‘malar fad pad’ (Figure 1.1). The subcutaneous fat plays an essential role in facial
esthetics. It softens the bony landmarks, fills the facial contours, and enhances skin quality.
