ABSTRACT
In clinical trials, we collect data to answer important scientific questions on the effect of interventions in humans. It is essential that before conducting a trial we ask how much information is necessary to answer the questions at hand. Since the amount of information is highly related to the number of subjects included in the trial, determining the number of subjects to include in a trial is an important part of trial planning.
