ABSTRACT

Land use planning is that part of the process of city planning concerned with the type, location, intensity, and amount of land development required for the various space-using functions of urban life. Land use planning is concerned, therefore, with determining the proper relationships of various land uses to one another and to existing and proposed transportation facilities, utilities, and community facilities. In this respect, it should be noted that land use planning is a process requiring expert skills that may be quite different from those required for transportation, utility, or community facilities planning.
