ABSTRACT
Important, naturally derived chemotypes currently in clinical use or development as anticancer agents have been discussed in earlier chapters, and the purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview, by no means exhaustive, of developments and future trends in the generation of novel agents from nature. For reference, a list of approved antitumor agents (as of the end of 2010) is shown in Table 26.1, using the data from Newman et al.1
