ABSTRACT

The aerodynamic aspects of the four distinct types of concentrators and their respective wind turbines will be investigated; integration techniques for achieving maximum energy yields of wind turbines will be covered. Aerodynamic investigations

involve mathematical models, computer simulation of air flow, and verification of computed parameters with measured data obtained from an open jet wind tunnel if available. Computer simulation may be performed with a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code if available. It is important to note that both verification techniques involving measurement and CFD calculation will be exploited to achieve the most accurate verification results.
