ABSTRACT

The Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica (CNEA) of Argentina is a governmental research and development (R&D) institution that investigates all aspects of peaceful uses of nuclear energy in the country, and also acts as adviser of the national government in nuclear policy. Furthermore, according to present regulations, CNEA is responsible for the decommissioning of domestic nuclear power plants, as well as for the management of spent fuels and radioactive wastes generated by the nuclear activities.
