ABSTRACT

Application of žber reinforced concrete (FRC) materials in the area of thin precast boards is becoming increasingly popular because the production, transportation, and installation costs are signižcantly lower than the conventional precast concrete. During the past 40 years, the need to replace the asbestos cement-based products necessitated the development of new classes of cementitious materials. These developments are in several areas of matrix systems, reinforcing materials, and also manufacturing techniques. Inherent differences in the properties of žbers make hybrid reinforcement a design variable in the design of FRC composites. Areas of application for these materials include exterior and interior of buildings, roožng products, ²oor underlayment, water and wastewater pipes, cast in place forms, rebar free applications, and various retrožt projects.
