ABSTRACT
A small volume of sample, typically 5 to 50 μΐ, is injected into a graphite furnace, where it is electrically heated to be dried, charred, and atomized according to the program. Liquid samples, such as serum, plasma, and urine, can be introduced direcdy into the furnace, but solid samples should be decomposed to liquid form.
