ABSTRACT

A new trend in storm water management is to control the runoff at its source rather than collecting and conveying it by a drainage system into a detention or retention basin. Source control practices include, but are not limited to, low impact development, use of permeable pavements, rain gardens, rain barrels and cisterns, and disconnection of paved areas.
