ABSTRACT
The near-‘eld optical recording technologies using a solid immersion lens (SIL; Figure 7.1) or solid immersion mirror (SIM; Figure 7.2) have been proposed as promising candidates to overcome the density limit of conventional optical recordings with far-‘eld optics.
