ABSTRACT

Protecting intellectual property rights and collecting dues from the copyright users promise to be challenging issues. The damage that can be inflicted with a photocopy machine can be vastly surpassed by the degree of potential copyright infringement online. Intellectual property is respected in India by most service providers. If intellectual property is not protected, the practical consequences for their business and the country could be severe. National treatment of a member state author is provided for in Berne Convention and Uniform Commercial Code, and India is a member country of Berne Convention, Universal Copyright Convention, Paris Convention, Patent Cooperation Treaty , and World Trade Organization. Security of organization’s critical assets, primarily data are becoming increasing crucial. Through public networks like the Internet, private corporate networks are accessed and sometimes breached. Such breaches can range from small losses to complete business failure and long-term, large-scale losses. Organizations must constantly use all means available to counter this ever threat.
