ABSTRACT

W E now have completed the first three steps in the firesprinkler system design process. That is, we have become familiar with the building plans, have blocked out the building plan (see Figure A-1) on our own company sheet, and we have laid out the system itself (see Figure A-2). The next step in the process (outlined in Chapter 2) is to calculate the hydraulics of the system in order to properly size the piping so that it will carry the necessary volume of water to extinguish a fire typical of the hazard being protected.
