Healthiness of foods Emily decided to weigh herself on the scale so thoughtfully provided by the cafeteria. She knew she had been gaining weight (or all her jeans were shrinking), but wasn’t sure how much. She looked down and couldn’t believe it. She was only halfway through her freshman year, and she had already gained thirteen pounds of the dreaded freshman fifteen! It was time for some serious weight loss. What could she do? She’d read that carbs were the problem and decided to try the latest diet, which replaces all those nasty carbs with protein. It was time to start eating healthy and get away from all that pizza and other junk food served up by the cafeteria.
