ABSTRACT

Understanding the patterns of involvement of various tumors that metastasize to the lungs and pleura helps to establish a specific differential diagnosis. The purpose of this chapter is to review metastatic disease to the lungs and pleura and to identify tumors based on the patterns found on computed tomography (CT). High-resolution CT (HRCT) provides better resolution of the interstitial architecture and therefore improves localization of tumor involvement. This can be particularly useful in detecting the lymphangitic spread of tumor.
