ABSTRACT

The use of laparoscopy by gynecologists in treating pediatric and adolescent patients is relatively new. This chapter will discuss the preoperative considerations, set-up, and techniques unique to this population. Although laparoscopy has a myriad of indications, in this chapter we will concentrate on the management of pelvic pain/endometriosis and adnexal masses. Indications and techniques for incidental appendectomy will also be presented.
