ABSTRACT
Endometrial ablation is designed to reduce excessive menstrual blood loss in women without uterine pathology, as an alternative to hysterectomy. With the advent of levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine devices, the number of women undergoing surgical management of menorrhagia has diminished over time.
